How much can you afford to spend on it? I would recommend a GTX 1080 for 144 Hz 1440p. Is it 2560x1440 or 3440x1440?

Dont be afraid of overclocking. u can easily restore the settings just like that.

If u dont want to overclock then dont overclock.

Overclock is not a must. its because u can.

well i dont want to overclock that is why i am asking if anyone knows a card that is not meant to be overclocked but simply is a beast

btw i just saw that video lol

Personally I think there is no reason not to overclock. I was a little afraid, than I was like, COOL free FPS!

You will be fine with a 1070, save the $100-$200

EDIT:

Didn't see your response to the monitor question.

GPU Boost 3.0 overclocks your GPU whether you like it or not, if you want the best out-of-the-box experience, get the Zotac AMP! Extreme, as it has the best cooling solution which will alow GPU boost to do its thing really well....

There hasnt been any news for a 1080ti release date, other than "2017" so you may be waiting a while for it.

Different cards/versions of the 1080 have different coolers. The PCB/GPU tends to be the same, or similar. If you simply look at the different 1080s, you will see what we mean.

realy? ):

A few sites are saying January, like this one for example http://www.gamenguide.com/articles/76618/20161128/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1080-ti-release-date-specs-news-update-gpu-cheaper-than-titan-x-launch-date-price-other-details-revealed.htm

But im yet to see a trusted/reputable tech site give a release date, so i'm not gonna believe it :P

The galax 1080 HOF performs well out of the box

It does, but good luck finding it... If you can, it's great, but if you can't, the Zotac one performs nearly identically...
