UEFI Boot Installation

I'm honestly really confused...

I was looking around on forums, and I see this thing about speeding up Windows loading.

http://rog.asus.com/articles/hands-on/rampage-iv-uefi-boot-installation-guide-on-windows-7-or-8/

What exactly is it, and how do I do it?

I have an Maximus Vii hero, i7 4790k, and an 850 evo.

Here is where I found it: https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?81108-VII-HERO-bios-settings-for-fastest-boot-time/page2

Thanks!

UEFI is the firmware the controls your motherboard.  It was designed to replace BIOS and can be much faster at completing those things required (POST) prior to loading Windows.    Once everything has been handed off from the UEFI to Windows, the Windows' portion of booting/loading is the same.  It just speeds up what happens right before Windows starts to load.

You'll need to disable Compatibility Mode in order to run full UEFI.  Once that's done, you'll want to reinstall Windows selecting the UEFI USB flash drive this time around.

Hope that helps.
