Mobo and Ram compatability

I'm about to upgrade my cpu mobo and ram in the next 48 hours and I need some urgent help before I spend all my budgeted money on stuff that wont work.

Im looking to buy an MSI Z170A GAMING M5 motherboard with an i7 6700K cpu, and the ram I was looking at getting was G.SKILL TridentZ Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3400

Now while looking at the specs of the mobo its says it supports "3600(OC)/ 3200(OC)/ 3000(OC)/ 2800(OC)/ 2600(OC)/ 2400/ 2133 MHz" but theres no 3400 listed in there.

Will this work, will it work well, how much tinkering would I have to do to the machine to get it to run properly?

It should work fine, just at a lower frequency eg 3200Mhz OR it could take a higher voltage to get the 3400Mhz... there is little chance that the RAM won't work at all.

should work fine, but why do you need such high speed ram? it doesn't matter that much for performance

My pc upgrade cycles tend to be slow, apprx every 6-7 years, and i buy the best I can afford.
