1080 FTW high temps

CantThinkOfAUserName

For some reason I'm seeing high temps with my 1080 FTW card when playing fallout 4 in 4k high settings preset. Its getting 82 degrees celcius with the fans spinning at 1950rpn. Dont know why its getting this hot this is reference style temps....

Stock clocks and stock fan curve as well. Dont see why I would need to have the fans spin any higher then what it was doing. If im not mistaken FTW cooler has two 100mm fans blowing on the heat sink. At 1900 its pretty loud and makes a whine noise.

4k maxes a gpu and makes it incredibly hot

it boosts to 1950 then throttles to about 1850mhz. Still expected better cooling out of the acx 3.0 cooler. Meh think Ill be going water cooling if I have  to deal with the fan noise to game in 4k.

That it is. I don't feel like doing a custom loop so I'm going to buy the FTW hybrid kit and just water cool it.
