Jump to content

- Remember to align this little triangle on your processor with another triangle on your socket.

- Do not use any force while putting it in. Just place it in the socket and close the CPU holder

- Apply thermal compound(not to much, boiled grain of rice amount should be enough)

- Put on the heat sink(some heat sinks have a plastic foil safety piece that sticks to the bottom of them, don't forget to remove it)

- Screw it on and plug the fan onto the fan socket on your motherboard

i do it 8 or 9 times a day anymore but i felt the same way at one point 

 

its really not as fragile as people lead it to be keep stuff outa the cpu slot thats not a cpu and you should be fine 

 

i have dropped a cpu from about 5feet  plugged the damn thing in and it still worked fine same with a mobo and ram lol 

 

sounds really bad i know but the things really aren't as fragile as people say they are 

 

mind you they still cost a fuckton so if you can avoid any of that do so
