Long story short, I was planning on getting a new PC several months ago, but my parents have postponed that until now.

I am trying to build a PC within the 700-800 dollar price range (US), but I have never done a DIY build before.

This is my current list (I know a mess): https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WdsBhq

I am looking at getting a solid quad-core intel processor (non-overclocked).

A solid GeForce GPU to run games such as Skyrim, Assassin's Creed, Total War, Thief, etc...(I only have a 1080p display so a GPU that can handle most of these on high settings would be great)

A plain case. (I live with 6 other siblings...I need simply and sturdy around here...)

A reliable and efficient PSU.
At least 512GB of storage with preferably an SSD (I've never had one, but I currently have an 8-year old Vista PC that takes several minutes to boot and takes several seconds just to open the System Properties menu.) I currently have a 4TB NAS in Raid 1 set up as photo and other document storage.

I tried my best to get those main points in this list, but I can bet that I have room to cut down on cost while still getting respectable performance.

Any pointers would be appreciated.
