Metal shavings

I accidently spilled some metal shavings in my computer(it was off/unplugged). Will a sweep with compressed air get rid of it before i start it back up or should I do something else? Thanks.

Did it get in any thing like the RAM slots or the PCI-E slots?

I would definitely take greater care than assuming it would be okay. Give it a good rundown with the compressed air, disassemble and inspect carefully.

I don't think it got on the motherboard, but when I tried blowing it out I was worried some would land on it.

Then what did you get it on? Also i do think that should be fine to turn on your PC after wiping it blowing it out with a can of air.

It's all good now. Just took the ram & gpu out and cleaned the connectors thoroughly. Runs fine. Thanks for the help.
