Hi, I need to delete an m.2 drive and I need to be sure that the data on it will not be recoverable in anyway because I'm returning it. I don't want the drive damaged obviously. Does anyone know of a free software that will format/delete the data to make sure it's not recoverable. Kind of like Clinton did with her email server... I just don't remember the name of the software they used. Much appreciated, thanks!

Use the secure earse function on the drive. Its takes about 10 seconds and your good. All the data on the drive is encrypted, and you just delete the old key and make a new one vhttp://www.makeuseof.com/tag/securely-erase-ssd-without-destroying/

thanks ill check it out, but what's wrong with DBAN?

It isn't going to delete all the data on a ssd as they don't write it to the same place every time like a ssd, and it puts a extra write on the drive, so slower, and worse for the drive for a less efective way to delete data.
