Hello,

So i just got a new screen. My old one was 1920x1080, the new one is 2560x1080.
I've noticed a substantial drop in performance, specifically in World of Warcraft. I expected a slight drop but i've lost 20-30 fps.
Is this expected or is something wrong?

Here is my PC: http://valid.x86.fr/2ls1kk
Upgrade recommendations welcome, if that's the issue.

Thank you.

Yeah, more pixels = harder to run

How many fps are you getting right now?

I used to get between 60 and 90.

I'm getting between 10 and 50 now. But it's very erratic and it seems choppier than the frame rate suggests - if that makes sense.

It's a 33% increase in pixel count, so in theory it's at least 33% harder to drive. Your numbers seem a little out of whack for your decreases, but it could also be affected by how much more of the game world you're loading, especially in something like WoW. I wouldn't say that's totally unreasonable.

If you're looking for an upgrade bump up the GPU, everything else is fine. Something like a 1060 would do you well.
