Hello,

I am making future plans now and thinking about branching out into heavier gaming and thinking about selling the current GPU and getting a better one , and later on in like a year , getting a new PC and keeping the GPU I got.

So the question is , what GPU should I be considering for 1080p 60fps , nothing too expensive. Probably going to be getting it used since prices in my country are BS.

My current rig is:

i5 2300@2.8Ghz Turbo'd to 3.1

MSI R7 260x OC'd

12GB DDR-3 RAM

240GB Kingston SSD

600W LC-Power PSU

I currently game at 900p so this rig is just fine for the time being , considering I currently play CS:GO , League and Dota2

You'll need a PSU upgrade to go with it because that LC power is both terrible and way overrated (can at most do 350W).

Where will you buy? I usually recommend a 470 for High settings 1080p but any GPU in the group of 470, 480, 1060 6GB is a good buy if the price is good. While you're at it, depending on where you are you'll be able to buy a fine PSU for not a lot of money.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

Computer having a hard time powering on? Troubleshoot it with this guide. (Currently looking for suggestions to update it into the context of <current year> and make it its own thread)

Yeah I figured LC-Power sucked but I think it gets out around 350-400 of the 600 advertised , I will definitely look out for a better power supply. I will probably get the card used since prices in my country are about 150 dollars higher than US.

If you want 1080p 60fps, go for the 1060 6GB, or the RX480 is you're willing to compromise on DX11 games and just want to play DX12 games. (Current Nvidia DX12 drivers aren't amazing, however AMD's getting a lot of mileage out of it.)

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

Ah gotcha. Good used cards are, roughly in order of power: 780, 970, 290, 780 Ti, 290X, 390, 980, 390X, Fury. You should be paying the equivalent of $150 ish for a 780, and a little bit more for every step further. Also keep in mind that a lot of these cards use up quite a bit of power, so get a good 500W PSU (I can direct you to one).

I checked out a local forum for used GPUs and the 780 you mentioned is like 200 dollars , definitely gonna wait and find a much better deal. They seem wayy overpriced.
