Saving Steam Games

I plan on getting a new gaming laptop and instead of having to replay some of my Steam games that I've completed on my present laptop, I want to transfer my saved files to the new laptop. What's the best option?

In fact, now that I think about it, since everything should be in the cloud, do I even have to worry about transferring via USB or CD? Wait, cloud files only pertain to the existing hard drive, right?

Depends on game and stuff, for example my GTA 5 never saves .. So when I forget to backup my files (which is not stored in the same place as Steam FYI) I need to start over

Most games support cloud save but if you wanna save time and not download steam games then just copy the whole steam folder on your existing laptop to the new 1 everything will move over and you will save time downloading the games aswell

I used a program that backup all of my save games but I can't remember the name of the program.

It might be gamesave manager but I am not sure. Give me a bit to look.

Just want to point out some games save settings under the user documents somewhere so even if you copy the steam games folder it will still not have your saves, on some games. (especially older games)

This is true so check this aswell
