ok, so I'm sold on VR. At first I thought it was stupid and a waste of time and money. Then I tried Samsung VR, thought it was awesome and then I thought PC would be so much better. The next week my local Best Buy had a Oculus Rift demo setup for people to try. I LOVED IT! So now I'm planning my build for a VR pc(i5 6600, gtx 1070, and other things but I'm gonna upgrade the cpu in the future) but there is one problem, I see a lot of people going toward the Vive and some for the Rift. What is the difference? price, usability? idk and I would like to. If y'all could help me know the difference that would be great!

thank you all for your opinions about both headsets and pros and cons!

(the demo for the Rift had the move controllers and those were awesome)

I'd definitely recommend the Vive. It's the most complete package. The rift is more comfortable, but from my experience the lenses have more glare. Soon the Rift will have touch controllers and technically "roomscale" but honestly, it doesn't have near as many games supporting it. With touch, they both cost about the same.

So you got to decide over comfort or content.

Wishing leads to ambition and ambition leads to motivation and motivation leads to me building an illegal rocket ship in my backyard.

Same here. Honestly, the Vive is easier to use as well. SteamVR is an awesome platform and integrates perfectly with Steam. The Vive also has more features, like a chaperone system and a passthrough mode so  you can see real life without taking off the headset.

Gameplay is all VR. But you can set it up to use the camera have AR when you get close to your wall so you don't bump into it.
