Rate my first build!

I built my first PC back in 2014. Rate it! Don't tell me what I should get, because most of the parts have already been replaced. Just tell me what I should have gotten. And please don't say Skylake or DDR4, or 10 series cards because they didn't exist back in 2014. My budget was like $700. I want to know what I should have done or what you guys would have recommended. Also take note of prices. 960's were worth like $250+ back in the day. And 950s weren't a thing either.

EDIT: The PSU is a CX430M

 

EDIT: Fun fact, the HDD is the ONLY component I kept in my current build. I still own the CX430M and the 300R and the DVD drive. 

 

EDIT: The GTX 960 and GTX 950 were not available until 2015.

For the price you didn't do bad, however the motherboard throws the colour scheme off.

I would have gone with an i3-4160 and an ATX form factor probably paired with a 960.

I wish I would have added a SSD.

They really don't get enough credit. When I upgrade to a SSD, it was the single greatest impact on my PC. Graphics card just give you better graphics. SSD change the way you view your PC.

I know. It was hideous. Orange ram with a Blue and brown mobo with a solid black GPU. I am just glad that crap case didn't have a side panel.

Like to see that pricing. Back in 2014 that was probably a $900 build.

I think it'd be about 800 depending on where you shopped.

The CPU would have been the same price. And its only a dual core. So the intel choice is questionable.

Dual core with hyperthreading, but it does better in some scenarios. The 6350 does have shared cache that makes it somewhat similar..

Just for the heads up, I was 12 in '14. Shouldn't matter, but I probably didn't understand all of that back then.

The performance is what matters and if it were best for the time [and cost], that's all that matters. No choices in tech are "bad" unless you go Pentium D in 2016...
