Razer hate

Gaungy

I am not a Razer fan boy. I would just like to know who does everyone seem to hate Razer products so much. I own a Razer Mamba and Blackwidow and have no problems. I might even get a Razer Blade for Xmas. Just want to know why?

Build quality just isn't what it used to be, and the prices are staying the same making it a lesser value. Also they made that "S my D" comment, which offended some people(I don't care personally)

Corsair also has an LED mouse pad. Pretty ridiculous idea IMO, but people will buy them.

I personally had a bad experience with a deathstalker that became pretty much unusable after I took the keycaps off once. I had to put glicerin on the keys just to get them to work again, and they're still sticky and hard to actuate.

But I don't hate the brand, just the deathstalker.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

I hated the green, the logo's a little too gamey for me.

Too much use of plastic, and the prices are a bit high compared to what else you can get.

Why the hate?  Because unlike the OP... I have owned 4 products from Razer, and all of them have failed me sooner than I expected.

The Razer Lachesis was a lovely mouse, but most units went bad due to firmware issues.  Mine died a few months outside the warranty. (caused the mouse pointer to jump)

The Deathadder was replaced within warranty, but then the replacement died on me as well.  (left click started dying both times as well as having some tracking issues)

The mousepad I had started fraying within months.  Can't say I was happy about that.

But the major reason I moved on was Razer's introduction to Synapses 2.0.  Still no clue why they were so hellbent on me using cloud sync and making an account.  The fact it felt fairly de-contented compared to the early utility didn't help.  Moved on to a Steelseries mouse which has brought on it's own set of issues, but at least everything is still working.

On the upside... I enjoyed using Razer hardware while it worked.  I don't mind their designs or even quality of the products I used.  My issues was long term durability which isn't great.

Hate is pretty strong word. Closer would be dislike. I had few deathadders and they broke right after warranty ended. Good mouse but poor durability.  Never went back to Razer products after that.

I have one of their keyboards, I got it because those Razer Greens are awesome and all clicky, no other reason.

Yours faithfully

They are using deceiving, cringe-worthy marketing. Their "high-end" mice use very mediocre laser sensors, because high DPI numbers are easier to market. Synapse is trash and you are forced to use it, because their products don't save settings on an on-board memory.

They make a pretty good laptop. Otherwise, for peripherals, you're just better off with companies like Filco or Corsair or Logitech, who make better peripherals for around the same price.
