What Should I Get?

DrMacintosh

Ok, so I'm in a tough position right now.

I'm being offered two options as a gift for the upcoming holidays. Either a Space Gray Series 1(Series 2 is possible but unlikely, Im a swimmer so it would be nice but ehh) Apple Watch Sport or a small list of parts for my PC.

http://www.apple.com/shop/buy-watch/apple-watch-series-1/space-gray-aluminum-black-sport-band?preSelect=false&product=MP022LL/A&step=detail

or these components from Amazon:

MSI Z97 Intel LGA 1150 DDR3 USB 3.0 ATX Gaming Motherboard:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K8KPXUO/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

NZXT S340 Mid Tower Case CA-S340W-B1 (Glossy Black):

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NGMIBUU/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

TP-Link AC1300 Wireless Dual Band PCI-Express Adapter (Archer T6E):

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016K0896K/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Please set aside all bias and hate of Apple or any manufacturer in this list and consider everything carefully.

I feel that I would get more use and value out of the Apple Watch, and replacing components would leave me with a useless mobo and an empty mITX case. Despite that I still feel torn between which I should choose.

Any incite and advice you could offer would be helpful. Thank you!

If anything, I'd get a new PSU :P I mean, the CX600M is fine for your build currently but a higher quality PSU would be cheaper that what you've listed and should last a lot longer than the CX. Out of those though, I'd say Apple watch if you think you can really use it.

Reason for Apple Watch:

I would have a watch (I always make jokes at school about checking time and just stare at my bare wrist)

It is also a quick way to look at my notifications ad respond without having to remove my very large phone from my pocket (6s Plus).

Easy music control of my iPhone (being able to select songs by not having to click headphone controls or pulling out my phone would be amazing)

Reasons for PC parts (Reasons against Apple Watch):

The PC parts offer no real benefit to my every day usage and enjoyment of anything.

I may bet board of the Apple Watch

Getting Series 1 over Series 2 removes a significant portion of its usability aka, Water Resistance up to 50m (I'm a swimmer)

There you go. See if you can work a bit to get the Series 2. I'd love to use my Apple Watch exclusively, but I use my Note 4 when I'm out of the hospital for note-taking.
