Thanks for the quick replies guys, i was looking up your suggestions and im considering the i5 6500 on other hand is hyperthreading useful for games since most of them do not take advantage from it from what i know.

I went to matx to make it easier for you to build for one, and two for some upgrade paths in the future. this build stays under 500usd, has onboard usb 3.0 on the mobo and case, plenty of I/o on the back and would serve you juuuuust fine I think. let me know what you think <3

if youre going to upgrade anywhere here, I would go in this order from most important to least;

upgrade to a 6400 or 6500 cpu (80usd change), a 120 or maybe 250gb sata based ssd (so a cheap adata 2.5" ssd) (40 to 80usd change), and populate the 3.5" bay with either a fan controller or usb 3.1 type a/c hub etc (20 to 50usd change).

Hello, this is going to be my first build which is also on a tight budget. I'm planning to use it for 1080p high on mmo games like WoW and light video recording.

I think it is compatible/powerful enough to do what i want from it, but still i would like a second opinion on that.

your case and mobo don't hae onboard usb 3.0 which is fine and dandy for a tight budget. but having a mobo with that onboard usb 3.0 is really nice to have when you have a 3.5" or 5.25" bay at your disposal like you would with that case, so that if you want a front I/o panel with usb 3.0 or 3.1 type c etc. you have that option. Having a total of 2 usb 3 ports is kind of not enough imo.

For an extra $20~ and a change in mobo you could get an i5-6500 for a little boost in performance.

id invest in an h110 board maybe even h170 and get a skylake 6400. but if youre just playing mmo's and light games like that a 6300 could pass as well. but 4 cores always helps.

If you get an i3, the 6100 is much better value than the 6300

you could also think about doing an amd based APU system, although your essentially killing any upgrade paths if you do that. APU systems work by having a single chip serve as your cpu and gpu that share your system memory (so youd need a good amount of it and speed of ram actually would matter).

id have to agree with you on that one. I guess I should have phrased it as, a dual-core hyperthreaded cpu could suffice
