3440 x 1400 w/ 970 SLI

mouf

I have tried searching and I can't find a good answer on this forum or any other site for that matter. I am finally ready to jump on the G-Sync train and upgrade from my crappy 1080p 60Hz random el cheapo monitor. I really want to get on the ultra-wide band wagon but I am running a 4790k with two 970s in SLI. Is that actually enough GPU horsepower to run the ASUS PG348q?? I mainly play CSGO but randomly hop into any other number of random games. Overwatch, Civ, Heros of the Storm, Rocket League, DayZ, etc, etc.

Here is my PC - http://pcpartpicker.com/list/spVpXL

Thanks in advance!

I have a 3440x1440 Samsung with 980s in sli and in a few titles I max out the VRAM long before running out of horsepower.

For the games you listed it will be fine but you may run out of VRAM in most recent AAA titles really fast.

I just upgraded from 2x 970's on my 1440P monitor and it was fine on every game pretty much, only texture heavy games needed a setting drop

Bah, I have a pair of R9 290X's in CF mode for my Acer XR341CK @ 3440x1440 and there hasn't been a game I've not been able to max out, framerate is pretty good though I'm not anal enough to have a framerate monitor program running to see framerate. I also have a pair of GTX Titan 6GB in SLi mode for that monitor and it's doing a damn nice job keeping framerate smooth though that monitor is a Freesync monitor.

Thanks guys. I didn't expect answers that quickly!

Looks like I need to get on that ultra wide train. I am assuming no one regrets going with 21:9.......

Im planning to buy Asus pg384q as well and i play competitive games as well like cs go, league of legends,

And single player will be more demanding games

In my build ill have i6700k or i5600k with asus gtx 1080 strix,

Do you think thats enough horsepower to run recent games in max settings on this monitor?
