So I thought that i'd upgrade to Windows 10 for DX12 and other functionality. So I used to have a windows 7 enterprise install and I installed a windows 10 pro disk image. Everything went fine when installing but at the final part where it gets everything ready for you, the screen just flashed and flashed for about an hour until I decided I should restart the PC manually. So I did, and after that, I tried bottling up and the same screen flashing still persists. Any help is appreciated.

Upgrade through windows 7, "keep personal files" option was chosen by the way

Hi. You should try using a Windows 10 USB/DVD booting up into the installation and selecting the 'repair your pc' option in the bottom left and see if that does help to resolve anything.

i7-9980x 4.20mhz - 19.8 terraflops of ram - 512mb GENERIC VIDEO_CARD - 20w PSU with hyperthreading.

I recommend doing a Clean Installation. "Upgrade" option sometimes ends in a bad way since the drivers for Windows 7 and Windows 10 are different. Sometimes it works.

Use your OS drive as secondary drive in any other computer and take backup of your personal files, documents and etc.,

Then plug-in that HDD to your system and perform Clean Installation.

You can download the latest Windows 10 ISO with Anniversary Update here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Download the ISO and use Rufus software to make a bootable USB drive. Then proceed.

Quote me if you have any other doubt.

Repairing my PC does nothing, it says my disk is locked or the partition required isn't available

I'll just format my C drive completely and reinstall from scratch, seems easier
