That sentence makes little sense. The i7 6950X is not good because it's not on a certain socket?

I'm assuming you're talking about Kaby Lake (or the i7 7700K). Nobody knows when exactly Intel will release it to the consumer market but it's most likely going to be early next year.

Kaby Lake  skylake are not 2011.That meas:Upgrading hardware will not be cheap. And 6950X base clock speed just 3.0GHz,Don't forget, it's not cheap.Don't forget, it costs $1723,not 172.3.

The temperature of the skylake is very good.Maybe reduce 5-15 degree? All in all, it is not worth

Rumor would suggest X299 based MoBo's in June 2017

Rumor would suggest Z270 based MoBo's in January 2017 ( very likely i suspect ).  KabyLake in the Z270s at the same time.

Beyound that you get "2nd Half":.... rumors: http://wccftech.com/intel-skylake-x-kaby-lake-x-platform-launch-2017/

thank you

uh....6950X is the highest-end flagship i7 in the market....

Replacing it will probably the Skylake-X processor that is supposedly on LGA 2066....

Anything on LGA 1151 isn't...exactly "flagship"

Thank you,but...don't scare me...:S I just hope I can upgrade hardware reasonable:(

Then you must understand that word flagship means the highest end product they have in that sku.

i7 ranges from consumer grade (LGA 115X) to enthusiast grade (20XX).

What you're probably looking for is the consumer grade next-gen i7, which is completely different from next-gen flagship i7.

I saw it,yes,2066.I seldom play games.but often do 3D model and rendering,so...if flagship not expensive(Relative to 6950x),I think I need it.Thanks again:)

Sorry,I seem to understand the mistake,1151:consumer grade    2066:enthusiast grade :)

But yeah you could ask yourself the question, if it would realy be worth it to wait for Skylake-X.

The biggest improvement that Skylake has over Haswell / Broadwell is the dmi3.0 bus, vs the dmi2.0 bus.

And the additional pch pci-e lanes.

And it realy depends on your expendabillity plans, and needings, to make it either worth it or not.

As far as raw cpu performance wise, there wont be that much of an improvement over Broadwell-E though.

Right but I'm still failing to fully understand what you're trying to say. Don't use clockspeed to determine performance because there are other factors such as IPC that should be taken into account.

From what I can manage to understand is that you want the flagship CPU of Intel's consumer offerings? That would be the i7 7700K I have previously mentioned.

If i remember correctly Haswell-E was launched October 2014.

So i personaly dont expect Skylake-X to be there much earlier then Q4 2017.

But ofc we dont really know, only Intel knows.

And it will of course depending on what AMD does with Zen.

Yes its one of my two main mother languages yes.

But if your question was about, "if i look forward to see Skylake-X".

Then sure i do. :)

But "if" i was currently on X99, then i probably wouldnt be interested in upgrading most likely.

Unless Skylake-X gets some very interesting new instruction sets that would be usefull for my type of workloads.

But as far as i know there wont be any.

BUt of course its all a personal thing in the end.
