Is my PC bricked?

I work at a pawnshop and was resetting an ACER laptop someone came to sell us and the reset failed over the night. When i came back to set it up to put out for sale it wont boot completely. It hangs up after the ACER logo show but then goes black for about 30 seconds then restarts. I can get to the BIOS but everything I have tried failed. Tried changing boot order and resetting settings in the BIOS with no luck. So I am asking for suggestions. I'll try anything.

Wipe it completely and clean install Windows.

It depends on the OS installed as any OS from windows 8 and above would have the product key hard coded into the BIOS, so it should automatically activate when the correct version is installed (although I think it will tell you if you're installing the correct version).

 

If it had windows 10 on it and it was an upgrade from 7 (unlikely if you can't find a product key on the laptop as it should be in plain sight) or 8.1 then you can just install windows 10 directly and it should activate automatically.
