graphics card HELP PLEASE HELP

Hello LTT community,
I just built my friend a new computer and have been facing a "no post" problem.
After installing the graphics card (Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1050 NON TI 2GB OC Graphics Card ) the system does not post.
However, only using the on board graphics, the system posts and is fully functional.
The card does not require any external PCI-E connectors. Yet, I suspect this could this
could be a PSU issue, but my friend has a Cougar STE400 400W PSU which is above the recommended
power-supply for the card. The fans on the GPU spin when the system is powered up.
System specs:
CPU: Intel i3 6100
Mobo: ASRock Fatal1ty B150 Gaming K4
GPU: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1050 NON TI 2GB OC Graphics Card
Memory: G skill F4-2800C15D-8GVRB
PSU: Cougar STE400 400W

maybe you just need a bigger psu, 400 is kinda low but idk

I'd assume the PSU is actually 150W but they labelled it as 400W. A list cheap replacements would be a XFX TS 430W, Seasonic S12ii 430W and a CX450M.

But it clearly says on the official website that it is 400W

Just because it says 400W, doesn't mean it is. Shitty PSUs can almost never output as much as expected.

yeah a new PSU should be all you need, i can vouch for the Seasonic S12

Did you try plugging the monitor into the onboard gpu while the 1050 is inserted to see if the system really doesn't post or if it does but the 1050 doesn't display it?

Well when the gpu is inserted, and connected to the monitor, there is no display "no signal".
However, when the integrated gpu is used its fine without the card.
But with the card there is nothing displayed.
