Hey LTT community, long time fan, first time poster.

The holidays are creeping up and I'd like to put a new graphics card on my wishlist. The catch is that I don't exactly know the budget of the people who may or may not be buying for me. So, I thought I'd pick out an RX 470, an RX 480, a GTX 1070, and a GTX 1080, to give the buyer a wide range of options. The primary use-case is gaming. Mostly low-power stuff like League of Legends in 1080p. However, I'd like to upgrade to 1440p or even 4K in the near-ish future, hence the 1070 and 1080. I'm also considering streaming. Here is the link to my current setup on PCPartPicker. Honestly, any suggestions you folks can give would be greatly appreciated. I think I've included all the pertinent info, but if I missed something let me know.

PS if I posted this in the wrong place, let me know and I'll move it.

EDIT: To clarify, I was hoping for specific models of those cards that I could link to.

A 480 could still handle LoL in 1440p or 4K, are there other more intensive games you play?

The newest game I've been playing is Civ 6. I also play more graphically-intense games like Fallout 4 and Dragon Age: Inquisition.

A credit card

Not on that CPU you aren't. Even if their budget is high, get a (relatively) worse GPU and use the rest for a new platform

If I could just grab a credit card and buy whatever, I wouldn't need to be asking for suggestions. There's a good chance their budget will be sub-200USD. But it might be more. So unless you've got suggestions for a new platform + GPU in the same price range as the GPU's alone, your comment isn't really helpful.

your CPU will literally be too slow to send the GPU the frames to render

My CPU is clocking in at 3.7 GHz right now and it's a quad-core. I know it's old but is it really so slow that it's going to be a bottleneck?

With AMD's lower IPC, yeah. It will be, I really wouldn't push more than a 470 at most (and even then you're approaching the law of diminishing marginal returns)

Damn, that sucks to hear. I want to do a platform refresh, but as far as I can figure the cheapest that can happen is like 300USD. And I'd still be stuck with my HD6850's. Suppose I went ham and got a 1080 today, would I still see a performance improvement? Then at least I would have it ready and waiting when I do get around to doing a platform refresh.
