4k Laptops

If I purchase a 15.6" gaming laptop consisting of a 4k display and a GTX 1070 video card, will playable framerates be possible with the latest first person shooters such as Call of Duty Infinite Warefare, Battlefield 1, Rise of Tomb

Raider, etc. at high or ultra settings or should I just stick with a 1080P display?

Should be at least 30fps ish on max settlings

if you want max settings 60 fps the short answer is no, if you are willing to compromise settings/fps it would be possible.

I would rather go higher framerates on 1440P then lower frame rates on 4k

I would recommend running at native resolution and knocking down a couple settings before lowering your resolution. (4k @ 15.4 inches means you absolutely don't need AA)

I would run games at 1080p or 2560x1440 if higher frame rates are a must. You have a barely noticeable loss in quality. As an example, I run 2560x1440 on my 4K monitor and it's barely noticeable it's not running on its native resolution.

Here is how the 1070 and 1060 performs (desktop). The 1070 mobile should be in between. All games are maxed out
