i5 6600k @4.4GHz?

Hello, I'm very new to overclocking.

I want to overclock my i5 6600k CPU yet I want to be safe at the same time.

I got 4.4ghz at 1.25v.

The temperature is 52C at load.

I'm using hyper 212 CPU cooler.

Are these number good for everyday uses and gaming?

That's great, you can use up to 1.45V as long as temps don't go over 85C.

I just ran a blend test on prime 95 for 15 min and the max temp is at 68 max.

Is it fine?

Yes that is fine. I wouldn't use Prime 95 for testing though, as some versions can damage your CPU. Use Aida 64, Asus Realbench or Intel XTU.

Higher frequency doesn't equal higher temps. Higher voltage does.

Oh thanks for the suggestion. So how long should I use Realbench or Aida 64 ?

Run a stress test for 10-30 minutes every time you bump up the overclock. Once you find your max overclock, I would recommend running a 8-24 hour stress test to insure it's fully stable. You could do it overnight or something.

Err a little dump question, how can I know that the system is okay when I sleep? It won't crash right?

The worst thing that can happen is that it overheats. Temps wont get much higher than what you see in a 15 minute stress test. If it crashes it will usually just restart or shutdown and you will either have to increase the voltage or lower the multiplier.
