i5 4460 or i5 6400 or i3 6100?

Go to solution Solved by SkilledRebuilds,

I built 2x systems this week, both with i5 6400's and both with RX 470's.

I installed 20 games, all at Ultra/Max settings, only a SINGLE game, didn't see 100% GPU usage due to a CPU bottleneck (Witcher 3 (Ultra) in CITY it tanks to around 50fps with lowered GPU usages, Other Areas are Fine at 55-70fps)

All other games...

Alien-Isolation / AssassinsCreed Syndicate & Unity / FC3 & FC4 / Tombraider 2014 / Lichdom Battlemage / Project Card / Sleeping Dogs / Shadow of Mordor

Amongst some other lesser known titles....

All ran at maximum details just fine (easy on the RX470) and I never once found the i5 6400 to be an issue. (Base 2.7Ghz, Turbo 3.3Ghz, Gaming usually is 3.0Ghz-3.1Ghz)

Ok guys suppose i get the skylake i3 now then there's 2 i3... i3 6100 and i3 6089P(which costs less). is there a significant difference between the two except the IGPU?

You could borrow money for the i5 and then sell off ur old cpu mobo and RAM to make up for it. Try OLX or QUIKR

My budget is included after selling those lol..the CPU might go for ~3k and mobo another 2.5k and not sure about the ram and about the i5 6400 its base clock is 2.7Ghz and Turbos to 3.3ghz..will that be an issue? you know they price it such that it makes us think if i just add some more money i can get this and that and it continues lol

The clocks are fine, the cores are what matter the i3 has two with hyper threading while the i5 has 4 physical ones.

buddy did you even looked at this i5 6402p, 100mhz higher clocked but with slower igpu so if you are using dedicated gpu then go with this and is lot cheaper at 12,700₹ ......
