Looking for a budget gaming headset with good mic for voice over.

You'll always pay more money for a combo unit, you'll also get something of lesser quality. Even the best of the best headsets are still so-so choices and those will be ridiculously overpriced.

You could consider getting a Sony lapel microphone which can clip onto a part of your clothing, or the cable of your headphones for your microphone, and then look at the >$50 category for headphones on this thread here. Read the descriptions and see what appeals to you.  

What kind of audio would you play through the headphones, if music is is on the list then what kind of music? Would you use them in a noisy environment or is it quiet where your computer is?

Kingston HyperX Cloud KHX-H3CL/WR had been giving great results which many of my friends use...

Its a great budget choice
