i currently got a amd phenom II X4 965 on a asus m5a78l -M LX V2 which i googled and heard it was an am3+ socket and i wanna upgrade my pc to play better games but i do not know amd cpus so i do not know what 2 get.

I wouldnt spend money on a FX right now. Zen wont be available for AM socket so our motherboards wont give us any upgrade options

Don't go with FX now. Go for Intel or wait for Zen
