I have this outlook app on my laptop that's part of the office 2013 suite i got - i want to add a gmail account to it, but when i try to, it is extremely complicated - for one, it doesn't even accept my user and password to log in - tried googling - nothing worked - i need help from someone's whos done this before

heres a screenshot of the issues i've been getting - i think its because im using my gmail - but my isp didn't give me a email account so i can't set up a server for emails

I personally use Thunderbird for email so this is bit guessing. Can you add mail service manually? And not by using that wizard? That might help. Like looking up server addresses from Gmails help and configuring it using those. Or you can create dummy email with Microsoft account and forward all mails to that.

Side note, I have no issues setting my gmail accounts on Win10 default mail app. Its weird that Outlook would act so much differently.

Do you have 2 step on?   I also know that Gmail security doesn't let people add accounts to mail apps (tried for a gmail that didn't have 2 step) and it said it was blocked.  This was for office 356 2016.  Sorry if it is confusing I am sick and haven't slept much lately

You mean it needs to have 2-step activated or it doesn't connect?

Hi flowalex,
Google just blocked someone from signing into your Google Account myaccount@gmail.com from an app that may put your account at risk.

If you didn't recently receive an error while trying to access a Google service, like Gmail, from a non-Google application, someone may have your password.

I edited out personal info
