So, not sure if this belongs in the peripheral forum but if it does feel free to move it down.

Anywho, I am wondering if anyone can help me with a bit of a situation, I very rarely use a printer, but when I do it tends to be rather urgent. I have had a basic Lexmark ink jet for the last decade or so however the problem I have with this is the ink drys up after ~6months or so of no use so I frequently need to replace Ink before use which is a huge and expensive hassle. Lately I have taken to driving down to my parents 40minutes away to use my dads laser printer to save me buying ink, but obviously this isnt ideal either.

So I am wondering if anyone knows if there is a type of printer which will not expire if left unused for months, whilst also being rather compact & cheap, network compatibility is a plus. I dont know the first thing about printers but I assume laser printer toner doesnt dry up like ink does?

nope it doesn't - any half decent hp or lexmark laser printer will do - but honestly, if you use a printer less than 5 times a year, then just go down to your local print shop and get them to print it for you

Local print shop, yeah only 2 places near me do that, the library which closes at like 3 in the afternoon and a stationary shop which again is just a 9-5 store, id rather just buy a printer, checking out cheap laser printers.
