Hey, I've had a error with my computer and I'm trying to find what the problem is, my pc over the past 2 days was slowing only on startup, after it was fine. However, suddenly everything stopped responding including windows explorer and so I tried restarting my computer. On startup nothing loads, just a black screen although my computer is on. After a while, the screen changes, reporting an error. It states there have been problems starting windows, specifically \Boot\BCD with status: 0xc00000e9 stating an I/O Error has Occurred. Also, whenever I press any keys on my keyboard apart from windows key, alt, shift and tab. Something clicks in my computer, I assumed it was the hard drive i.e. the infamous click of death but the clicking only occurs when I press or hold the keys on the keyboard. I think I have isolated the sound to be coming from the hard drive because when I disconnect both the SATA and power connectors the clicking no longer occurs however from simply listening it seemed like it may have been coming from somewhere else like the GPU which worried me, but this may not be the case as I am trying to listen over the AMD stock cooler! Anyway, I would assume that the problem is the hard drive and I should simply replace it but I wasn't entirely sure this was the problem so I was wanting a second opinion before I go out and get a new HD. If anyone could help I'd appreciate it, thanks.

PC:

AMD fx6300

8gb 1600 mhz ram

western digital 1 tb hard drive

nvidia 750ti

gigabyte 78lmt usb3

Thanks,

Ethan
