Hard drive not showing up

So I have a western digital black 1 terabyte hard drive, power and data are connected and it shows up in my bios. When I open file manager it does not recognize the hard drive as being there and I can only see my trion 150 480gb ssd. Help?

You need to format it in diskmgmt.msc

 

Run that in the run prompt and make a partition on the drive.

did you open it?

 

right click on the drive and then new volume.

The problem is that I can't open it. It is recognized in the bios but wont let me do anything to it in the bios. It won't show up while I'm in windows

windows 10 64 bit

right click on the win 10 logo and select disk management from the menu, on the bottom menu it should have your drive as something (maybe blank space or unpartitioned) right click and select the option to mark as active and I believe that should get you going
