only if he is doing serious overclocking. the 212 evo is good for medium-heavy overclocking while keeping it moderately cool.

I'll be completely honest and say I don't even know how to overclock, much less actually doing it. I don't believe I will overclock, just a good PC for video games.

For one, I don't have OCD. Second, it really doesn't matter to me what it looks like, since it'll be tucked under my desk immediately after the build is completed.

i7 6700k > i7 6700. even without overclocking it has higher speeds, and shouldnt be passed up. its a better choice overall. other than that, yeah its pretty good.

Ok, so I've edited my original build since that's what I prefer, and added the CPU to it. Is it fine? No overclock.

are you not ever going to overclock it at all? or do you just not want to learn how to now?

I really don't plan on it. I don't want to account for all these different factors like temperature, length of time of OC, e.t.c.

if you don't just getting the 6700 is enough even though it performs slightly worse(just slightly).

if you don't plan on selling your parts when you're through with them you could learn how to overclock with the 6700k when you get new parts. for me its just having the option. up to you really. for 30$ more I'd recommend it even without overclocking, unless you're trying to go cheaper.
