Dead HOF owner here , i'm just in complete shock and in a loss for words... My respect for Galaxy is gone , this card was just rushed and they didn't bother to test it enough in order to make sure that it is in 100% working order. Not to mention i had issues with this card out of box with it randomly throttling to 600mhz in games for no reason at all, it was so bad i was forced to flash the bios. I got this off newegg, i was over 30 day warranty so i was lucky that they even accepted my rma. I cant get in store credit back, however luckily i have a buddy who is  going to help me get rid of it. I am debating either EVGA Classified or take advantage of the upcoming 780ti launch (if theyre not too expensive and have non ref models at launch of course) I'm also willing to take any advice or input from you guys, let me know what you think my next card should be :) Here is also a link to what my build looks like atm so you have an idea of what would look best aesthetically as well - http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/51501-project-ghost/vYaudPv.jpg

Well, sorry for your loss. Hmm 290x might be good when they come out with non reference models. I see you like the BF series so maybe Mantle might interest you :)

p.s. how is the ASUS VG248QE doing for ya? Good colors?

780ti will be faster than the 290x, be priced the same or less than the 780 so get one of those bad boys when it comes out. Also dont speak of mantle until there is tests with it. For now expect nothing.

Yea BF is my hands down my main game. And the VG248QE is doing absolutely AMAZING, the smoothness and fluidity is like night and day in comparison to like a 5ms 60hz lol. As for colors they are awful out of the box but after some tweaking everything looks damn near perfect. My only criticism would be a little light bleed coming out of the bottom left corner but that is  barely visible and you can only see it when the screen is full black.

I would tell you get a Classified 780 and see if within 3 months, the 780Ti comes out. If it does, use EVGA's trade program to get the Ti.

Yea definitely, you think since 780ti is going to be the same as 780 but more cuda that we will see non reference on launch day?

You could get the EVGA one and then do the EVGA Upgrade Program for the 780ti :P

I will hold on to the HOF till i have enough $ to buy pretty much top of the line card. I would do it if they would cross ship tho :)

It is designed to beat it. It is touted as the faster gpu ever made from nvidia. In my belief, it will beat it. Maybe it will be a titan with out double precision. The 780 can already beat the 290x, to bad there are so many reviews and benchies that counter act each other. The gpu wars have hit a high gear so expect plenty from each team.
