New imacs?

Wondering if any one has any idea when Apple will announce the new imac. Been a year since the last update, waiting for new ones to come out as they will most likely have kaby lake and the 5k model with use likely use a polaris card instead of that punt r9 390 M

Probably mid 2017 is my guess. There going to wait for kaby lake.

Only thing is that the Surface Studio will probably cost a LOT more than the iMac, albeit probably with better specs at base

I really don't see them adding a touch screen anytime soon.

The surface was a really cool concept, I tried it out at a Microsoft store, the surface dial is great, but the surface pen... not impressed. It's really just to clunky for pro artists. when drawing it lags quite a bit behind, which makes it horrible for fine details. The Wacom stylus and Apple pencil are far more impressive and more natural feeling. I know there not this year, but if apple releases a touch imac with the apple pencil simular to the surface studio, oh man I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

Apple is dead as far as innovation goes, IMO. Unless you're a Final Cut user, the iMac is pointless.
