the FTW is designed for maximum performance and overclocking.

For average users, get the SSC, which has a custom PCB, and no the SC.

Make sure its also ACX 3.0.

So in conclusion, get a ACX 3.0 SSC

My experience is the SC cards can save you a few bucks but will be limited on power for overclock. If that does not bother you just pick up the SC editions.

The FTW editions offer more power phases to increase power delivery for higher overclocking.

So let's say I plan on overclocking in the future (I'm not like an enthusiast overclocker really) which card would you say would be the better choice?

Sc does overclock and fairly well. but it will hit a wall much sooner where you cant go any further. the FTW editions usually can be puched much harder. If your just starting out id stick with an SC edition.

Yeah I am. In fact this is my very first PC I'm building so I'll stick with the SC. Thanks

The SC still overclocks, just not as well, but still perfectly well, and better than most others from other brands.

Get an SSC, unless you wanna fork out the extra cash

Custom pcb should have better power delivery and oc better. I would get it. Just got a sc 1080 and I regret it.

To add, using EVGA's lineup as an example...

The SC cards are for people who want an overclocked card, but won't do anymore themselves or don't plan on pushing the clocks hard.

The FTW cards are for people who want to overclock the card hard.

The Classified/Kingpin edition cards are for people who want to break overclocking records.
