I am looking to overclock my amd cpu (A8-5600K)

I am unexperienced with overclocking and would like some help and information in how to overclock my cpu to the point that it won't bottleneck my gpu (MSI R7 370 4GB OC EDITION)

My specs are:

--------------------------------------------

motherboard: FM2A88M-HD+

8 GB of ram

Cpu: A8-5600k @3.7 GHz

Gpu R7 370 4GB OC EDTION

its allways going to bottleneck your gpu, unless your planning on going liquid nitrogen and +6Ghz

You'll not be able to overclock that mobo to the point it won't be a bottleneck. chances are it's always going to bottleneck.

You should be able to get around 4.3/4.4ghz stable, might get a /bit/ warm though. Thats assuming you got a good silicon lottery.

So it's not only the problem of the CPU but also the motherboard?

My mistake in that, meant to put CPU rather than mobo your motherboard is fine with your current CPU.
If you were to get the "budget" cpu upgrade of a 6100, then you'd need a new motherboard, and RAM.

That CPU is about as expensive as the one that's already in my system :/

Much much better though.

Why do I need to get a new motherboard and RAM then?
