New PC build - monitor displays no signal

Ihorizon

Hi,

I've just build a new PC the specs are:

Core i5 6600k LGA 1151

Corsair H55 Hydro series

Asus Z170 Pro gaming DDR4 ATX board

Corsair CS550M Modular ATX power supply

G Skill DDR4 2666

Asus Strix Ge force GTX 1060

Deep cool Tesseract mid tower case

Acer LCD monitor G246HL

The PC powers up with the fans spinning but the monitor displays no signal when it is plugged in to the PC. I've tried both HDMI and DVI cables but still no signal.

Anyone have some ideas on what might be wrong?

Are you plugging them into the GPU or your motherboard?

If GPU then take it out of your system (disconnect from PCI slot) and try using your mobo's video output

Did you take the gpu out before trying the igpu?

Is the monitor even on the right input?

Um what do you mean?

there is only 1 DVI port on each of the gpu and the monitor.

Did you take the graphics card out of the system before trying to use the integrated graphics on your processor?

When you have the pc on, and its connected to the monitor via DVI, is it on the DVI input?

No i haven't taken out the graphics card at all since installing it.

Yep im fairly sure that the DVI is plugged via the input as there is only one port for it

Might wanna try to take that out and THEN try integrated graphics.

And I mean is the monitor on the dvi input digitally. Theres two video sources for that monitor, one being dsub and the other being DVI.
