So this will be my first time building a computer, I'm aiming for 4k gaming, I want to keep the budget around $3,000 U.S

 

I'm making the center piece of the build a 1080, and I'm also going for a black and white build

generally any games, smite, witcher 3, skyrim, etc
i want to be able to expand my taste and library, so i want to know if it can handle pretty much anything i can through at it.

1. Asus 1080 strix is cheaper and has a awesome cooler

2. i5 could bottleneck you in some games, if you are really aiming for 4k maybe you should look at a i7 6700k

3. psu is a bit overkill but is fine

you should be fine but i7 is recommanded

That may suit you better.. I changed the monitor and power supply to save a couple bucks. Wasnt too sure why that monitor was so expensive, aside from its resolution.. If I'm missing something, teach me.

get an I7 6700K and its pretty good

I say, get a DVD drive! They're cheap, they're handy, and your case already has the needed bay!

If your going for black/white an nzxt kraken x61/x62 looks very good with the LED's  set to white.
