i'm pretty sure the general rule for gpu's is 80 and under is fine

Wait...using a 7970 with XFX's DD custom cooling solution, and you're reaching 80*C??

What computer case are you using? How is the airflow inside your system?

What speed are you fans get to?

 

80*C is well within the same operating temperature limits...but it's only got a mid overclock on it.. 1075 / 1500...

 

My Sapphire Dual-X 7970 OC'ed to 1140/1480 is much lower in temperature during 100% load (Furmark)...

XFX coolers tend to load around those temps so its fine imo. I would stay below 90C to be safe.

Terrible case, terrible airflow, and I start crashing in CCC at 1085, so I can't go any higher. And yes, it is XFX DD non-ghz edition, my other 2 friends that have the same card (XFX DD Non-GHZ) only get 975 and 1025 so I feel lucky with my 1075 xD
