I just upgraded my GTX 750 to a new 1070, but I kept my cpu to a i7-3770. I've had this cpu for 4 years which came in an old Alienware x51 four years ago. Will I notice a significant FPS boost in games if I upgraded to a i5 6600? Or should I wait for the Kaby Lake i5's? I also want to be able to stream and edit pictures with my computer,  so any suggestions?

You're not just upgrading your CPU at that point. You would need a whole platform change including CPU, RAM, and motherboard. 6000 Series chips run on DDR4 only and require a newer chipset compared to your 3770.

I5 6600k will be fine. There will be no mystical bottleneck. But like others said, you need a new MB and RAM too.
