hey guys, im thinking of building my brother a new pc. Main reason is that he can run games at only 15 fps and he's also using an old AMD 620 chipset. my question is: If I install a hard drive that already has windows 10 installed, along with other programs and such. Will the new pc boot from that hard drive with no issues?

If I'm correct, I think that you would need to do a clean install of windows, since the drive only has drivers for a different cpu, mobo, etc. Also, putting in a new hard drive will not change performance (not saying at all, just not much.)

I've heard Win10 handles drivers much better than older versions. But if its big jump, like from AMD to Intel or several generations, you might still need or want to do fresh install.

Thank you to all, I've made my conclusion. i'll just have to use a deactivated version of windows. MY brother's PC is making a jump from AMD to Intel, so i might as well have him save whatever he needs to a different drive and do a clean install of windows.
