I have a 4 year old Seagate Barracuda 500Gb drive that came from an OEM PC. There are 230 free Gb's, I need to create an OS-sized partition (I'm reinstalling the OS while trying to keep all the files on the same drive), but it won't let me shrink the C volume by more than 2Gb, and gave some sort of message about it not being able to shrink it if there are unmovable files. I tried to defrag the drive, but every time I open the defrag program, it gives me some message about partitioning has already been enabled by another program, and I can't get into the program.
I know that this is an unreliable drive, could there be so many bad sectors and it is about to die?

Don't know if it will help, but for partitioning I use Partition Wizard 9.1. Try some other programs to defrag the drive, maybe...
