Exturnal ssd Help

I was just using my old external hdd and it was just so slow in doing things so i though i have to look into getting an ssd one you guys have any good suggestions at the $100 price range? 250gb around there i did see that samsung had there 250gb one with usb-c but thought i ask here i plan to use it with surface pro 4 so usb 3 not type-c
