6600k vs 6700k trade?

Would you trade 6600k and Corsair H115i with 2 fractal HP14 venturi for 6700k and cooler?

I wouldn't. Cooler keeps the component cool but will not increase the performance

well, i planned to upgrade in future for 6700k because of video editing and rendering. Adobe CC and AutoCAD

General rule of thumb is always take the better CPU with cheaper cooling over the cheaper CPU with better cooler.

 

There are some small exceptions (like get the 6800k + water cooler and OC it, over getting the 6850k with a cheap cooler since an OCed 6800k will beat the 6850 and still be cheaper with a AIO) but for the most part you get the better CPU.

 

You will get a better experience from a non-OCed 6700k vs a OCed 6600k (especially considering you want to use Adobe and CAD). You can OC just fine with a cheap ($30) air cooler and if you really want you can upgrade to an AIO in the future.

 

You say you want to upgrade to a 6700k in the future anyway so that leaves 2 options:

1. 6600k + AIO now = ~$350, plus ~$330 for the 6700k in the future = ~$690 total (minus what you can sell the 6600k for in the future)

2. 6700k + air cooler now = ~350, plus ~$120 for AIO in the future = ~470 total (plus you have a backup air cooler in the future)

 

That means you would have to sell the 6600k for at least $220 in the future(won't happen, especially used) plus you deal with a slower CPU until then.

 

Just get the 6700k and air cooler.

Having issues with a Corsair AIO? Possible fix here:

Are you getting weird fan behavior, speed fluctuations, and/or other issues with Link?

Are you running AIDA64, HWinfo, CAM, or HWmonitor? (ASUS suite & other monitoring software often have the same issue.)

Corsair Link has problems with some monitoring software so you may have to change some settings to get them to work smoothly.

-For AIDA64: First make sure you have the newest update installed, then, go to Preferences>Stability and make sure the "Corsair Link sensor support" box is checked and make sure the "Asetek LC sensor support" box is UNchecked.

-For HWinfo: manually disable all monitoring of the AIO sensors/components.

-For others: Disable any monitoring of Corsair AIO sensors.

That should fix the fan issue for some Corsair AIOs (H80i GT/v2, H110i GTX/H115i, H100i GTX and others made by Asetek). The problem is bad coding in Link that fights for AIO control with other programs. You can test if this worked by setting the fan speed in Link to 100%, if it doesn't fluctuate you are set and can change the curve to whatever. If that doesn't work or you're still having other issues then you probably still have a monitoring software interfering with the AIO/Link communications, find what it is and disable it.
