Good cooler replacement?

I've been using the antec kuhler 650 for a few years now, but it has always been really loud. In the past week though, I've been noticing some overly high temperatures (70-75 degrees under 30% load). I've been really out of touch with the new tech that's been coming out and I'm looking for a cheap case (ATX, max 80 euro), a quiet but good cooler (max 100 EU) and a few quiet case fans. Any tips? I assume arctic silver 5 is still good paste as well?

Thanks

Are you looking for doing mild or heavy OC? From Noctua D14/15 and U14S are good options for higher end. Dual tower from Phanteks, Scythe Funa, Dark Rock 3 and 3 Pro from be Quiet. Those are all within your price range. I wouldn't nessessarily go with dual tower if you aren't going for higher OC.

Thanks

since this is in air coolers i assume you want air coolers?

Noctua NDH-14 or 15 i believe

and the Dark Rock Pro 3

don't know  about the case as it is very subjective

Thanks I'll look into those. I'm not going for an OC at all, having bad experiences with it in the past. My current chip gets constant BSODs when OC'ing, but I might be doing something wrong.

BSODs during OCing mean that you don't have enough voltage. If you aren't going to OC at all, getting small 120mm tower or even down-draft would also work. Like Cryorig H7 (look other models from Cryorig too, forgot those) and Pure Rock. Or if you want, U12S from Noctua.

Yeah I know, but I increased my voltages way beyond what most people did when OC'ing, I've looked into the matter. Things still went wrong.

Seems so. Do you have any insight  on a proper case or case fans? I was looking at the S340 from NZXT but it looks like the intake is a bit limited.

Where you will be shopping for case? Something like FDs Core series is good option. I even looked at Nanoxia's DeepSilence case just now for my case change. But ended with used R4 instead.

I was actually just looking at the Define R4, I've heard that the R5 isn't really much of an improvement over the R4 for the additional 25 bucks I'd have to pay.

The biggest differences are option to switch which side door opens and that bottom hdd cage is also officially movable. R4s biggest issue is that bottom dust filter might rattle if you have vibrating hdd. Like it does with my WD Black.

What are your specs and what settings have you tried?

I don't quite remember the settings since it's been a year or so. 1.35v at 3.8GHz? Really can't remember.

That's very high voltage for what is basically a non-oc and would cause high temps. Check your motherboard settings and just lower the voltage if that's the case.

Exactly, but the problem is that even this caused BSODs, and higher voltage usually means a better stability if I'm not mistaken? I know that 1.35V is way too high, especially for 3.8

No, not necessarily and there are other settings that have an effect on oc'ing. Why not just run at stock settings with such a low clock speed?

At the very least, you might want to try oc'ing again from default settings. http://www.overclock.net/t/1401976/the-gigabyte-z87-haswell-overclocking-oc-guide

Thanks, I'll definitely try it again later. However, lots of these settings which Linus was showing I simply couldn't find in my BIOS.

The gigabyte z87 guide I linked before it will probably be more relevant in your case.

Most motherboards share very similar settings but may have them named differently. Be sure to check out every menu.

TTL's guide on 1155 CPUs is good reference with Gigabyte boards. I know it works with my 2 Z87Xs:
