so i am making my friend 2 servers, i am using the basis of the dark rp server i used to run/own,

 

i got the seperate console worked out, 

 

i turned it on to see the state,

 

it said connection failed after 6 tries when i tried to join

 

when i first made this server it never did that, help please?
 

 

all other servers work, my friend said he got same error

Server log, what is the server doing when you're trying to connect? Does the server get any connection requests that it denies or are you just not getting through to the server at all?

once the server is done updating ( a way i found to troubleshoot this ) i will send u a copy of the console

No because that would create a massive post, unless you want to put it in some spoiler tags so it doesn't fill up the whole page

No, that is your client console. I mean what is happening in the servers console?

How is the server hosted? LAN, or with a hosting company?

Also, I need a paste bin of

server root/garrysmod/console.log inside of a pastebin

CPU: R5 3600 @ 4.4 GHz

RAM: 16GB DDR4 @ 3200 MHz

rn off my computer, i have ran this server before, idk why it doin this

However your server should have a port, for example my Dev server is 185.xx.148.76:27055

It doesn't but I would be able to find the log myself.

It might also be in root/garrysmod/garrysmod/

 

You could also try "connect local" in game-console if your server is localhosted

Try the default port

connect 42.200.7.246:27005

or in the server's start up commands add

-port PORT

PORT = (What ever port you have open)

then connect 42.200.7.246:PORT

i restarted server, doesnt work, tried port, doesnt work

 

 

i getting pissed off right now.

 

i've spent 10+ hr this week

i have taken out all addons, trying to convert it to a surf server

 

i have copied and pasted it from an server i had on a thumb drive,

 

i can try the one on the thumb drive if u want

 

other than that i have changed nothing crucial, it has sat their for around 4 months
