Hey :) I am planning to build a pc on a tight budget, given that I'm still just a college student. My friend told me to get a mobo that has a socket 1151. I don't really know what brand to get. I'm also planning to get an i5 processor. Any help on this matter? Thanks! :)

Here are the details you might need:

BUDGET: ~650 in USD (but I can work around it. I was planning to get a GTX 970 if I can fit it in.)

I would probably buy used, cheaper parts.

USE: Gaming, thesis, other papers

AREA: I'm from Asia

PERIPHERALS: M/Kb won't be a problem. I would settle for some cheaper ones. I really don't like the expensive ones. I also would buy the software later on.

I didn't include Windows in this build. The RX 470 is roughly GTX 970 performance.

I also only included an SSD in the build, you could add a HDD later too. Or ditch the SSD for now and get a 1TB  HDD now.

Thanks for the input! :) I'll try to find the parts here in my area.

No problem ^^

Just tell me if you need an equivalent for any of the products.

I opted out for a Deepcool Tesseract for the case. I might add the cash I saved in getting the 4GB RX 480. Is it still ok?

You're a big help, dude. Thanks, really.

Yeah, the RX 480 is just a bit faster than the RX 470 (around the same performance of an GTX 970) so that's a good choice.
