So, i'm upgrading my rig from a: qCFOa6g.png

To a:

CPU: Intel Core I5 6500 3.2 GHZ 1151

GPU: GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB GDDR5

MB: GIGABYTE GA-H110M-H

RAM: 8GB DDR4 2600 MHz Kingston

PSU: EVGA 500w PSU

HDD: WD Caviar Blue 1 TB 7200 RPM

Case: Raidmax

I wanted to have a semi-decent budget for gaming, specifically for games like CS GO/Doom at not-so-high settings (i can get comfortable by running games on low, and i won't be running stuff like GTA 5 at all, so i'm pretty optimistic about performance), and to be able to perform tasks without a lot of stuttering and cpu overheating (like small canvas on photoshop...or even watching a stream), since i'm not really that wealthy (I'm from Argentina, and this computer in particular costs around 12k to 12.5k pesos in total, without sending costs); In US Dollars, judging by how much it costs, it'll be 833 dollars in total.

I aim to use only one monitor, the LG one i currently have, and i don't plan to purchase peripherals.

I'm upgrading my computer because, well...i've been using this computer non-stop for gaming for more than 7 years, and it's starting to show a lot of flaws, and cpu overheating.

Also, i have no re-usable parts in here; Once i get my new computer, i will put this one to rest for good (either saving it in case the new one has a critical flaw, or just giving it to someone who, unfortunately, might have an even WORSE computer than mine)

Talking specifically about the budget; Like i said, i won't be getting a super high-end pc, so i only need one that lasts for at least the same duration as the one i'm currently using (above 7 years, almost up to 8), or better, and has a decent amount of performance.

The most cheapest parts (and good parts) i've been able to gather (the ones i listed above), all combined it costs around 12500 pesos (or less)

I wanted to know if this is a decent computer to upgrade from the one i'm using, and if i need any tips to find better price-to-performance hardware, or where to look (within my country, Argentina) for better prices.

Thanks for any tips that any of you might give me.

it is a tiny bit more to upgrade to a 950 or even 960 but the best option would be a 1050ti also you might want more ram

also welcome to the fourms

get a 1050ti or a 1060 3GB. 750ti doesn't deserve its price anymore.

GPU is bad. Try getting a GTX 950 at least.

@lukazec Yes I did. You're just wasting money if you buy a 750 ti.

I completely understand your situation, and have gone through all the same stuff.

I've recently bought this build:

CPU- AMD FX 4300 3.8GHz Quad-Core

GPU-ASUS RADEON R7 360 2GB OC

RAM-8GB Kingston HyperX Fury

MOBO-GIGABYTE GA78LMT-USB3

I payed about 310€ (Don't know how much it is in Dollars)

And I can say that I'm very surprised how well the system performs in many tasks and especially in mid-settings gaming.

Instead of the GPU you're going for maybe go for the one I have?

Thanks for replying you and all the others, and though i understand sometimes the pricing in the US might be...well, a bit rubbish; The pricing in here is very, very different.

Also, i'm considering buying this GPU because it's apparently the best price-to-performance in my country, performs well and it has a VERY low TDP for it's power.

And, above all, friends have been telling me that NVidia usually has more performance and more durability than the AMD counterparts, that's why i'm going with NVidia only when it comes to gpus.

I've been using sites such as GPUBoss, UserBenchmarking and HWbenchmarking, while also asking to individual folks and even seeing the specifications MYSELF so i can determine which gpu should suit my needs.

I do have to say though, while i do work, it barely manages to hold up for a new headset (which i'm going to be buying soon), and my computer is going to be paid by my mother in quotes (don't know how to say that in english, but it's basically like: You get the product AFTER you pay less than 1/4 of the price, and then you pay the other amount remaining, monthly.

Thanks again for answering.

a. 750ti is better than a r7 360

b. RX 460 is better than both and costs less than 750ti

c. 1050ti only costs a bit more than 750ti and performs MUCH better.

I see what you mean; Yeah, the RX 460 looks much better than the 750ti (actually, it only costs 100 pesos more, which it's like only 6 dollars above); But aren't AMD products much more prone to overheating, and have less durability? (at least, my experience with an AMD Processor wasn't very good at the moment)

And by quotes, like i said just after saying that, is that my mother pays...let's say: 1150 pesos per month, for 12 months, until the payment of the 12.500 pesos gets completed.

And speaking about the 1050ti: Here it's not even out on most hardware stores, and on Mercadolibre.com.ar (which is like a latin Ebay or Amazon), costs 2.000 pesos more than the cards i said (my country has a really heavy inflation, plus taxes, so...yeah, not good on that part).

Thanks for answering.

I still don't understand why so many people think AMD cards run hot; it all depends on the OEM partner's cooler design, and has nothing to do with the graphics chip itself. AMD is perfectly fine.

How does that work?

Which cooler design should work more for extended durability?
