it's an X99 board, which uses LGA2011 socket, and the E5-2650 is a CPU that uses the LGA2011.

This seems like a pretty clear compatibility.

It's LGA 2011 V3 but yeah. I missed the v3 part of the name.

It may not work, due to it being an ES cpu, there is a reason why 2011-3 cpus are expensive these are the preproduction cpus that may have issues, they are property of Intel, illegal to sell, and are not gaurenteed to work at all, Intel will not support these. It is a gamble to whether or not it will work, and if it doesn't then you are out £125.

Says ES right after the v3 in the name.

EDiT: and normal xeons are way more expensive.

So why don't ES don't work?

I think it means an engineering sample, not a normal one.  Engineering samples don't always work well/communicate in a full system.  They're basically pre-final product.  So, the bios might not like it at all.  If anything you're taking another gamble.

Is there anyway to make it work

It's a beta chip, bud.  If you buy it, it might not work well, fully, at all, or maybe you hit the jackpot and got one as good as final product.  If you got a dud then your only option is to pay an engineer  to actually finish it.

I only need it for a few hours to test the board xD

I mean it will probably work to some degree, but an ES is not ideal for testing. xD Simply because it might fail with instructions and bios tasks.

I've found a 5930k, will that work with my board??
