I currently have an I7 6700K with a GTX 1070 and 8gb of DDR4 2300. I'm wondering if my rig is capable of running 4k. Or wether I need to upgrade to run most games smoothly. 

Any reply is appriciated.

it will be OK in 4k. You may have to lower settings here or there but itll still be decent.
